This policy describes the current KatsuSip experience and services that may be enabled as the site develops.

Information stored on your device

Drink records such as Tried, Favourite, ratings, comparison selections, language preferences and your cookie choice may be stored in your browser using LocalStorage. Clearing browser data may remove these records.

Accounts and Firebase

When you choose to create an account or sign in, authentication is provided through Firebase. Firebase may process identifiers such as your email address, display name, account ID and sign-in provider. KatsuSip does not receive your Google password.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

KatsuSip uses necessary storage for core functions such as authentication, language and privacy choices. Optional advertising and measurement technologies are blocked until you select “Accept optional”. Selecting “Necessary only” keeps them disabled. You can reopen Cookie settings from the site footer. If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its partners may process cookies, device identifiers and usage data for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention, subject to your choice and applicable law.

Tasting notes, ratings and public reviews

Signed-in users can save ratings, tasting notes, Would drink again choices, Tried records and photos. Private notes and private photos are returned only to their owner. When a user selects Public, the review may be shown with their display name, rating and date; their email address is never included in the public review. Public review averages exclude private notes.

User photos and permission

Photos may be Private or submitted for moderated Community display. A separate, optional “Allow KatsuSip to use this photo” choice lets the operator consider a public photo for use within KatsuSip. It is off by default, can be withdrawn, and never changes a drink’s main image automatically. Uploaded images are resized and re-encoded to remove EXIF metadata such as GPS location before storage.

User content and contact

If you submit feedback, a missing drink, or contact us, we may process the information you provide to review and respond. Do not submit sensitive personal data. Account-linked records may be stored to support profile and social features when those features are enabled.

You may use core catalogue browsing without an account. You can clear local records through your browser. For account or privacy questions, contact us through the Contact page.
